What is the most effective treatment to reduce wrinkles?

We have different types of wrinkles: expression wrinkles and gravitational wrinkles that we treat differently. Expression wrinkles are produced by the contraction of the muscles (for example when we raise our eyebrows). The most effective treatment is uses muscle relaxing solution, a protein that relaxes muscle contractions preventing us from creating wrinkles with facial expressions. Gravitational wrinkles are caused by flaccid muscles, loss of fat cells and by gravity. We also provide a range of ultrasound and mesotherapy treatments to combat the effects of fatigue and ageing.

Who will perform the wrinkle reduction treatment?

At our skin clinic in Derby, all of our medical treatments are performed by our aesthetic-specialist doctor and Nurse.

Are there after effects or side effects?

There are usually very few however bruising may occur. You’ll need to avoid tilting your head forwards for a few hours and shouldn’t exercise for 24 hours after the procedure. Ordinary painkillers will relieve any temporary discomfort around the site of the injections but these will not normally be necessary.

When will I notice the results?

Results start quickly although it takes a little while for your muscles to relax completely. You’ll see the results from three days to two weeks after your treatment.

Which treatment should I choose to have?

In your consultation the Doctor will access you main concern areas and prescribe the most effective treatment.

The consultation and treatment usually take around 30 minutes. You can generally get back to everyday life straight away.

RESULTS

Following your treatment and for up to two weeks after you will notice the results develop. These are quite natural and the effects usually last three to four months.

FULL RECOVERY

Treatment requires little in the way of recovery. You’ll need to avoid tilting your head forwards for a few hours and shouldn’t exercise for 24 hours after the procedure.

DURATION OF RESULTS

You can expect the results to last from between four to six months depending on factors like the condition of your skin, weather exposure and so on.

ANAESTHETIC

You won’t normally need an anaesthetic. We may apply a special numbing cream to the area that’s going to be treated.
